Additional Facial Procedures

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure which treats the signs of the aging face.  Primarily correcting the lower face, a facelift allows for tightening of the underlying muscles and redraping of the skin, to give a more youthful, refined contour to the neck and jawline.

A mini facelift is for those who do not require as extensive tightening of the neck. The procedure that is best for you will be discussed at your consultation.

Dr. Castellese encourages “natural” facial rejuvenation, with her goal being to offer rejuvenation without an “operated look”. A combination of skin care, nonsurgical treatments, fat transfer, laser resurfacing and laser skin tightening for the neck are recommended as primary treatments.

Ask Dr. Castellese about the latest in cosmetic facial rejuvenation, the stem cell facelift.

Dr. Castellese performs “no-incision” brow lifts.  This is accomplished through volume restoration and skin tightening. Most of the sagging in the area of the brow and upper eyelid is secondary to a loss of volume. Dr. Castellese performs fat transfer to these areas, often in combination with complete facial volume enhancement.

The optimal result involves assessment and treatment of the entire face. Combining therapies enables Dr. Castellese to achieve natural facial rejuvenation. Surgical procedures are safely combined with skin care, nonsurgical treatments, and laser resurfacing to obtain the best results.

An eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure to rejuvenate the eyes. An upper eyelid lift removes excess or loose skin above the eye, giving a more youthful appearance to your face.  In advanced cases, the upper eyelid skin may cause “hooding”, which can impair vision.  There may also be prolapsed fat removed at the time of your procedure.

A lower eyelid lift is performed to improve the appearance of “bags” under your eyes. Prolapsed fat is often removed at the time of surgery.  Most often the ideal procedure to rejuvenate the lower eyelids involves a combination of skin tightening and restoring volume to the hollowness under the eyes with fat transfer.

The preferred treatment(s) will be discussed at your consultation, as well as the risks and recovery for the procedure.

Typical candidates for SurgiSil’s PermaLip™ silicone lip implant include those patients that desire a more permanent option for volumizing their upper and/or lower lip. Most patients electing to have the PermaLip™ silicone implant have already had prior lip enhancement with treatments such as Restylane and Juvederm. These patients are usually quite happy with the results of the injections. However, one of their major complaints is having to go back every year or so for repeat injections to maintain their look. By opting for a permanent option, such as the PermaLip™ silicone implant, they can avoid having to undergo continuous repeat treatments.

PermaLip™ implants work by increasing the size of the lip using a solid implant that is placed along the entire length of the lip. The PermaLip™ implant is specially designed to extend across the lip with tapered edges on each side to follow the natural lip contour. Although the implant is solid, it is made of a softer silicone material that makes that ‘feel’ of the implant very acceptable in most patients.
